Nioh 2 is the 269th episode of Fandom Games' comedy series Honest Game Trailers. It was written by Max Song, Andrew Bird and Spencer Gilbert. It parodies the action role-playing video game Nioh 2. It was published on March 24, 2020. It has been viewed over 200,000 times.
From the developers of some of the most aggressive action games and even more aggressive booby physics (Team Ninja), comes the sequel to the meanest Diablo you've ever played, and this time, it's somehow even more Japanese than before.
Enter the magical realm of Feudal Japan once again in the latest installment of the DreamWorks version of Dark Souls, that drops the Last Samurai weeaboo role-play from the first game in favor of a full-service waifu-maker, and has you playing as some sort of techno-demon braving through the yōkai-infested countryside like you're on the Devil's ecstasy, in a game that feels like it took a page straight out of Onimusha, except now, you want to destroy your controller every time you die. But don't worry; there's always the easy way out. (Hide commits harakiri and dies)
Creep your way through Nioh 2's compact levels, slaughtering the mostly-helpless mooks in your way as you search for the next shortcut and watching loot and limbs piñata out of them like little fireworks, while the game tries to trip you up with status effects, snipers, and assholes waiting just around corners to jump on you, until you run into some real threats and you suddenly have to take the combat very seriously, as you're repeatedly handed your ass by goofy-looking Japanese monsters in less than ten seconds and you're sent back to the last bonfire to dash past everything to get to the boss, where you're finally forced to learn some of the game mechanics, or just summon a guy and stand in the back tossing bombs like a true ninja, in a gameplay loop that really is just Dark Souls with feature creep. Actually, I'm... pretty sure "feature creep" was a boss in the second region.
Experience the fan fiction storyline of Nioh 2, as they take you through the annals of Japanese history, taking their own very heavy liberties along the way, and play as the self-insert OC Hide, a half-demon with the power to see the numerous spirits and monsters that roam Japan and banish their ass back to the underworld, as you travel with notable figures of history in a storyline that's just one big history lesson wrapped in anime and big magic swords. Which, if you really think about it, is just what Call of Duty does to the World Wars.
Discover the layer cake that is the combat design of Nioh 2 as it slathers a whole bunch of new mechanics on top of the old ones, with new weapons to learn all three stances on, absorbing enemy skills like you're Mega Man, and three kinds of Devil Triggers with different parry systems that will give you a bevy of options to deal with any type of enemy, if you can devote the many hours of your life it'll take to keep all of it straight while you're getting two-shotted by a demon monkey, as the game balances all the new fun features by making everything hit harder than your parents' disappointment, and if you haven't played a metric f*ckton of Nioh 1, you're going to have to climb that learning curve that's about as steep as Mount Fuji. Look, I know I deserve it, but getting my ass kicked by what is essentially a snake with boobs wearing a wig? It's just sadistic.
Starring: Featuring Dante from Devil May Cry (Hide); Ape Escape (Kinoshita Tōkichirō/Toyotomi Hideyoshi); Scythe Her (Mumyo); Shiva (Nōhime); Jason Mamoa (sic) (Hachisuka Koroku); Majima Everywhere (Maeda Toshiie); Listerfiend (Imagawa Yoshimoto); Dosan DeVito (Saitō Dōsan); Alt Skin Raiden (Kashin Koji); LL Fool J (Oda Nobunaga); and Petting This Ghost Cat (Hide vigorously petting a Scampuss).
Did you know that if you do the same gesture as the Mujina, it'll give you all the stuff for free? Did you also know that he wears his testicles over his head like a hat? That's two useful facts; you're welcome.
