Script Edit

As surely as the excitement of jumping off a cliff precedes the inevitable result of reaching the bottom, so too does the advent of a new Pokémon fill our hearts with joy and anticipation, or in this case, murderous rage. (a GameCentral article pops up with the title "Pokémon developers receive death threats, fans respond with #ThankYouGameFreak")

Pokémon Sword and Shield

Immerse yourself in the darkest chapter of Pokémon's history, as the mainline game finally coming to a major console unleashes the hidden fury of the hardcore fans (more articles pop up detailing how certain gamers think Game Freak lied to them about Pokémon Sword and Shield), who, upset that the game leaves out a bunch of 'mons from the previous titles, took a collective dump all over the Internet for several months, circling bad textures and repeated animations like they were figuring out who shot JFK, claiming the game was a black mark on the name of the franchise and generally acting like they haven't been buying an identical game with minor tweaks for two decades already.

Explore the reaches of Galar, Pokémon's version of Britain, where the Koffings wear top hats and everyone's super into curry, as you play out the standard Pokémon story of youthful animal enslavement in a region where gym challenges are treated like spectator sports and thousands of people will gather in a stadium to watch your Level 10 starter Pokémon use Water Gun, like, six times, while they cheer like they're losing their minds. Then, ramp up the intensity as you Gigantamax your Pokémon like you're Rick Moranis for insanely over-the-top moves that don't really change the fact that you're going to one-shot that guy anyway, because this game is, like, one level more complex than rock-paper-scissors.

Traverse the Wild Region, Sword and Shield's biggest innovation, where you'll explore with others online and fight shared battles, make curry out of garbage you literally picked off the ground, or just catch all sorts of Pokémon you normally wouldn't get access to early on, making it even easier than usual to crush your way through the game. Which is good, because the mysterious legendary Pokémon storyline... is just as much of a snoozer as it's ever been. Oh, wow, one of them was a sword Pokémon and one was a shield one. You don't say? W-Why... Why is my tongue numb? Uh, d-did I just take an Ambien?

So put down those keyboards and pick up those Pokéballs, for yet another Pokémon far too similar to the others to be worth giving yourself an aneurysm. And, as tradition dictates, we're going to have to name all the new ones. Really?! All of these?! I mean, that seems like a little much. <CLICK!> Is that a gun? ...So, you want me to rap these, or what?

The honest title for Pokémon: Sword and Shield was 'Pokémon Dexit.'

Hey, if you really want to yell at Game Freak about something, how about making the battle effects not take two hours?! If I have to sit through another fight in the hail, I'm going to toss my Switch under the freeway!
