Roth cornet

Roth Cornet is the Editor-in-Chief of Screen Junkies News. Roth is a film critic and the main host of SJU, Screen Junkies News' daily talk show. Known for her love of the term 'unpack' and her skills as double entendre extraordinaire, Roth joined Screen Junkies News in 2016. Roth regularly does movie reviews and co-hosts Charting with Dan.

A devoted fan of Doctor Who, Roth is easily enraged by inaccurate references to the show, regardless of whether they are accidental or shamelessly designed to provoke her. Roth likes many films and TV shows, but is noted for her love of the films of Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Wong Kar-Wai and the most "perfect" film ever: Robocop. Roth was exposed to a wide range of films as a child, some of them ostensibly made for older audiences. She turned out just fine. Roth has dyslexia and was inspired by the film Finding Dory to discuss the impact of dyslexia on her as both a child and adult. Roth is hotly anticipating the release of future film classic, The Meg, which also happens to be about an inspirational fish.

Roth was employed at Screen Junkies at the time of Andy Signore's termination for egregious and intolerable sexual behavior towards multiple women. Roth unequivocally supported the women. She joined with her colleagues to condemn Signore's behavior and improve the culture of the Screen Junkies community through changes to programming and content moderation. Post Signore's departure, Roth hosted the Movie Fights Live Extravaganza to raise money for the charity Women In Film.

Roth spent roughly two years trying to convince her colleagues Dan Murrell, Spencer Gilbert and Joe Starr to watch Doctor Who, to no avail. In 2018, her dreams finally came true, proving once and for all that "the girl who waited" always wins.
